I’m actually crying right now. Something that seemed impossible for me might actually happen in the future. I just hope this isn’t repealed by the time I feel comfortable enough in my life to transition. I know this doesn’t seem important to most people but this just gave me another reason to keep moving forward with my life. 🙏

I HOPE THIS IS A THING FOR MY AMERICAN FRIENDS AHH!!!

this could very well prevent some people from committing suicide
one of the largest issues is that reassignment surgery is ridiculously expensive and since many transgender people are faced w the fact they may never be who they know they are it is a fast downward spiral toward worse depression and ultimately self harm or suicide
reassignment surgery should absolutely be covered by insurance - it’s bullshit how large insurance companies claim it as “cosmetic”

Britain’s first black marchioness

Okay y’all.

This is: Emma McQuiston

And as that says, she’s this first black marchioness Britain has ever had.

But she’s not the only black royal

but THIS IS A BIG DEAL.

plus she’s getting snubbed like big time. The groom’s father didn’t even come. And she said things like:

she has been snubbed by the British elite because of her ethnicity and background

SO REBLOG IT, CAUSE SHE’S GORGEOUS AND EVERYONE SHOULD LOVE HER.

this morning, police raided Greater St. Mark school/church in Ferguson, MO (formerly called St. Sebastian’s Parish).

community members had been using it as a safe space and staging area. police claim that the church is violating housing codes by sheltering protesters, even though the pastor has said it isn’t true.

please please please boost this. help these organizers recover the supplies they lost, and share just how fucking far these cops will sink to make the people of Ferguson suffer.

Breakfast may not effect weight loss — but it’s still the most important meal of the day

1. Breakfast is good for the brain: In kids, eating breakfast helps improve attention and focus in the classroom. A 2013 study in the journal Frontiers in Human Neuroscience found that children who ate breakfast were more on-task at school than their peers who went without a morning meal. Children who regularly eat a breakfast are also far more likely than kids who don’t to have better overall nutrient intakes.

India replaces the Ice Bucket Challenge with the much more sustainable Rice Bucket Challenge

After seeing the dramatic results from the Ice Bucket Challenge, Indian journalist Manju Latha Kalanidhi was compelled to start something similar, but with an Indian slant. “I felt like doing something more locally tangible. Rice is a staple here,” Kalanidhi told CNN. “We eat it every day, we can store it for months. Why not donate rice to someone who is hungry?”
